DUE TUESDAY OCTOBER 18
Research How have some mobs become historically famous or notorious? In some cases, significant historical events have been triggered by the action of a mob. Pick and research one mob, investigating why it formed and what it did. You may wish to choose mobs associated with events such as St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, the storming of the Bastille, the Boston Tea Party, the Boxer Rebellion, and the Bolshevik revolution. You will present your findings to the class. Remember to gather information from several sources and to include visual aids in your presentations (minimum 12 slides). Sequel Return to the end of scene 1 in Act 2 and reread the stage directions that show the chaos breaking out on Maple Street. What do you think happens next? Consider whether life can ever return to normal once the seeds of suspicion have been sown. Then write a short sequel to the teleplay. Begin the morning after the day of the events narrated. Reminder: Use what you learned about character and conflict in your writing (1 page front and back) News Report Imagine that you are a reporter who arrived on Maple Street near the end of the events depicted in the play. As you watch the neighbors attack each other, you try to find out details that will answer the who, what, how, why, when, and where questions. Write a news article that summarizes the events that have occurred on Maple Street. Remember to organize your details logically (1 page front and back). ****If you type option 2 or 3, it needs to be one page, Times New Roman Size 12, single spaced.
